Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday December 26, 2021 at Crestwood Chapel, for Gail Birdwell, age 84, of Southside, who passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. Lauill Thompson will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.

Gail will be remembered as a devout Christian and was devoted to her family and friends. Her life involved many relocations to places such as St. Mary's Ohio, Logan Ohio, and North Canton Ohio due to her husband's career with Goodyear, but she always found a church to be a part of, a community to work in, and numerous lifetime friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Welton Birdwell, daughter Karen Denise, parents James "Jim" Smith and Esther Smith, and siblings Margurite Hood, Geraldine Howard, and Woodard Smith.

Gail is survived by sons Steve Birdwell and Ken Birdwell, daughter Kelly (Greg) Elliott, and a large extended family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.

The family would like to issue a special thanks to her longtime physician Dr. Iyer and Gerri Copeland Hendrix.

Family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
