The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 with the memorial service beginning at 6:30 p.m. Van Lockridge will officiate.
Jack was a member of Church of the Highlands in Gadsden where he served on the Dream Team and enjoyed his small groups until his illness. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves, and watching football with his family. He was an avid Alabama Football fan. He was a member of the Red Elephant Club. Jack officiated football (and basketball) for the AHSAA for over 40 years. Jack loved spending time with his family and attending family gatherings, always attended his grandsons' sporting events and cherished moments spent with his great- grandchildren who held a special place in his heart.
Jack retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 30 plus years of service. He then spent time driving tour buses for Thrasher Brothers. He also drove buses for GSCC Athletic Dept. transporting their sports teams to athletic events. He was also a Master Mason at Dwight Masonic Lodge. Jack's love for his family was evident and he was loved by all that knew him.
He is preceded by his mother, Lucille Duncan Minshew; father, Freddie Jackson Minshew, Sr., son, William Minshew; daughter, Gina Minshew Owens; stepson, Greg Fuller; brother, Gerald Minshew and sisters Joy Sims and Judie Beggs.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to ACG Hospice who became like family during Jack's illness.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or a favorite charity in Jack's memory.
