Obituary

Frankye Louise (Peace) Reeves, 86, left this earth peacefully at home on November 30, 2022.
Her son, Mark, was with her. Frankye was born on September 18, 1936, on a farm in Springville,
Alabama (Friendship Community) to Cecil (CE) and Mary Louise Peace, the second of four
children (older brother, Jack, and younger brother and sister, Robert and Shirley). During her
senior year at Etowah High School, she met her neighbor's nephew, a cadet in the Air Force,
Kenneth Reeves. Before graduating high school, Frankye chose Ken and her life as a military
wife over another young man and rural life on a farm. Ken and Frankye were married on
December 26, 1954, and began a life of travel and military service at various United States Air
Force bases around the world. Frankye was an avid Bridge player and, being the sweet, kind
person she was, made a multitude of friends. She loved to play (and watch) golf and was an
exceptionally knowledgeable football fan. Everyone knew her as a beautiful woman with a
wonderful soul and dynamic faith in God and her Saviour, Jesus Christ.
All of the family and friends she left behind will miss Frankye terribly. Her son, Mark, and her
grandson Keith. Her sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Larry Watson. Her sisters-in-law,
Judy Stevens, and Barbara Peace. Her favorite nieces, Lori, Karla, Kelli, Alisa, Melissa, and
Suzanne; her favorite nephew Philip; other grandchildren, Sheryll, Sonya, and Chad. Great-
grandchildren Kayla, Ronnie, Brittany, Chelsea, Braydon, and Rylee, and several great-great-
grandchildren, cousins, great nieces and nephews, and hundreds, if not thousands of friends.
Frankye was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ken, her oldest son Michael, her
parents (C.E. and Louise Peace), and both of her brothers (Jack & Robert Peace). Frankye was
laid to rest at Crestwood Cemetery in Gadsden, Alabama, on December 27, 2022, with most of
her immediate family and in-laws.
Frankye was a devoted Baptist and loved her gospel music, revivals, and going to church.
Unfortunately, Frankye's senior years were complicated by health issues due to having smoked
into her 40s. That and a hearing loss restricted her ability to travel and maintain a normal life.
She dearly missed her extended family and many friends. In conclusion, Frankye inherited a love
of laughter from her father and would wish those of us left to mourn to remember the good times
and the happy memories.
