Frances Johnson Thompson (Frankie), Leesburg, passed away peacefully at her home on November 14th.
Frankie was born on January 7th, 1931 in Gadsden. In 1947 she married her childhood sweetheart, James Thompson, Sr. They were married for 65 years at the time of his death August 2012. They made a home and many cherished memories for their four children in East Gadsden. Later on they retired to the home they built together on Weiss Lake. There they provided a place of love and lots of fun for their children, grandchildren, and all of their extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alpha Hartbarger Johnson and Ira Johnson, her beloved husband James Roy Thompson, Sr., brother Edmund D. Johnson, and sisters, Margret Thacker, Jane Thornhill, and Dorothy Browning.
She is survived by her son, JR (Kim) Thompson, daughters, Judy (Jim) Thorsen, Janice (Johnny) Baker, Joan (Chris) Martakis and a many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
