Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Monday, March 28th, 2016, at Crestwood Funeral Home for Fincher (Buddy) Morris, 77. Rev. Ernest Mote, Rev. Bobby Head, and Bishop Manning Thorton will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Ruby Morris; brother, Roy Dale Morris; and a precious infant daughter.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Leola Morris; children, Teresa (Ernest) Mote, Elizabeth (Mike) Rains, Sonny (Tina) Morris; grandchildren, Tabitha Evans, Kimberly Flournoy, Tim Mote, Christopher and Jeremy Rains, Taylor and Jordon Morris; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles, Joe, Jerry, Ray Morris; and sisters, Gwen Morris Kifer and Elaine Spurlock.
Buddy worked for Goodyear as a garage mechanic for 29 years. He attended the East Gadsden Church of God. He had served as the church clerk for over 20 years. He loved the Lord and was faithful to his church.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Debora Reiland and the nurses on the 4th floor and also the nurses in CCU at Riverview.
Pallbearers will be Tim Mote, Taylor and Jordon Morris, Peter Flournoy, Christopher and Jeremy Rains, and Lee evans.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the East Gadsden Church of God.
The body will lie in state 2 hours prior to the service on Monday, and the family will also receive friends at the Crestwood Funeral Home tonight from 6-8 PM.
