Faye was born in Etowah County and was a resident of Glencoe, Alabama her entire life. She enjoyed attending and participated in Glencoe First Baptist Church for the past 63 years, sang in the adult choir, Senior Adult Choir and also served on the kitchen committee. She was a beauty advisor selling cosmetics for several years, was a hairdresser, instructor, owned and operated her own beauty salon and probably cut, colored, permed and set hair for almost everyone in the Glencoe community.

She is preceded in death by her parents, M.D. and Nellie Holloway, seven brothers and six sisters. She was the youngest of 13 siblings. She was also preceded by her first husband of 44 years James M. (Jack) Sims and her seconds husband of 24 years Lewis E. (Gene) Scruggs.

She is survived by her daughter Sharron Yancy (Mark) and son Joey Sims (Kathy); stepson Randy Scruggs (Susan) and stepdaughter Kathy Thompson (Tommy); several grandchildren and great grandchildren in addition to the two grandchildren Carly Sims and Jack Sims (Kelsey) who were the love of her life. Also too many nieces, nephews and friends to list.

The family wishes to thank Enhabit Hospice, Faye Payne, Tammy Crow, Brittany Williamson and Sally Pritchett for taking such good care of our mother for the past two years.

The funeral service will be at 12pm Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Glencoe First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 am until noon prior to the service. Rev. Donny Yarbrough and Rev. Larry Fuhrman will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, nephews, and special friends of the family.
