Evans Clyde Tidwell, 99, of Attalla went home to be with our Lord on Monday, August 3, 2015. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He was retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, was a devoted member of Cherry Street Baptist Church where he served as deacon for a number of years.
Mr. Tidwell is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Margaret Edna Tidwell. Parents - Oscar & Margaret (Maggie) Tidwell, Brothers - Condey, Roscoe & Grady Tidwell. Sisters - Flossie Wood (Oscar), Ina Mae Tidwell, Annie Ruth Nolen (Lester), Bessie Roberts (Tommy) and Mabel Skipper (Roy).
He is survived by his loving wife Annie J (Bonnie) Tidwell, daughter Linda Quarles (Clarence), son David Tidwell (Kathy), grandchildren Julie Bates (Dell), Amanda Quarles, Brad Tidwell, Kelli Smith. Great grandchildren Jessica Bates, Evan Bates, Adam Bates, Hayley Tidwell, Brittany Tidwell. Stepsons- Gregory(Freda), Dye, Donny(Shannon), step granddaughter Ginger Line(Scott), step grandson Gregory W.(Leslie) Dye, step great grandson, Brayden Dye.
Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Crestwood Funeral Home, Gadsden with the Rev. Larry Garrard and Rev. Clarence Quarles officiating, interment in Crestwood Cemetery. Deacons of Cherry Street Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
