Services for Mother Eula Mae Henley who was born on February 27, 1936 to the late Pink Montgomery and Emma Jane Hudgins in Ashville, AL. will be 1 pm Saturday, May 6th, at Crestwood Funeral Home Gadsden Alabama.
At an early age, she gave her life to Christ. As the years progressed, she faithfully continued her Christian journey. She was a dedicated servant at Overcoming Church and Lighthouse COOLJC. She was a Senior Usher at both churches until her health failed her. She was also a Senior Usher of the Northern Alabama Diocese.
She worked as a nursing assistant at Whitney/Ashville Nursing Home and Trussville Nursing Home. She also worked as a custodian at Robinson Law Firm. She served faithful doing God's will in the church and in her community.
She married Lewis Smith, who proceeded her in death, eight children were born from that union. She later married Hosea Henley in 1982, who also preceded her in death.
She departed this life on April 27, 2023 was preceded in death by her sons, Harrison L. Smith, Smith Baby, Israel Smith, and Clifton Smith; her daughters , Betty Blunt (Ornel) Marcus, Jannie Mostella, and Marilyn (Hubert) Anderson; stepsons, Garnett (Darlene) Henley, and Hosea (Geraldine) Henley, Jr.; grandson Casey B. Blunt; and sister Sally (Vince) Gibbs.
Precious memories of Mother Eula Mae Henley will linger in the hearts and be cherished by her loving sister Mattie Bell Williams; her brother Austin Hudgins; a very special Aunt, Jimme L. Young; Stepchildren Steven (Cassandra) Williams, Ricky (Brenda) Williams , Bessie Williams, Sarah (Chris) Ford, Myrtis Moragne, Marie McKinney, A loving and special granddaughter Enia D. Blunt; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great– great grand children; nieces, nephews, friends and family.
The family will receive friends at Crestwood Funeral Home Friday from 6 until 8pm.
