Estelle Theresa Power Swann passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Estelle was born November 13, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York to Patrick and Anna Power. She moved to Gadsden to attend Holy Name of Jesus Nursing School and worked in the nursing profession for over 40 years. She enjoyed her grandchildren, reading, knitting, and plant collecting. Special thanks and love to her Holy Comforter Episcopal Church family.
Estelle is survived by her son, Howard Swann, Jr. (Aurelia) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; daughter, Deborah Herman (Mark) of Oregon, Illinois; five grandchildren, Trey, Robert (Katie), Spencer, Allison, Colleen; and one great-grandchild, Felix Swann.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, November 11 at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter with visitation to follow in the Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter, Prayer Shawl Ministry and Hospice of East Alabama.
