Funeral will be held at 12 PM, Monday, August 31st, 2015, at Crestwood Chapel, for Erma Edna Stewart, 93, of Gadsden, who peacefully went to sleep and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 27th, 2015. There will be a great reunion with the ones she loved who were awaiting her arrival on the other side. Bro. Bill Harbison will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Homer Foster Stewart; parents, Austin and Martilia Farmer; sister, Lucille Honea; and brother, A.B. Farmer.
She is survived by her sons, Roger K. Stewart and Chip (Mary) Stewart; daughter, Jeanine Diggs; granddaughters, Brandy (Rick) Pate, Charlotte (Hal) Hearn; grandsons, David (Robin) Diggs, Greg (Robin) Diggs, and Trent Stewart; 15 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Stewart was a long-standing member of East Gadsden Baptist Church where she taught children's Sunday School over 40 years. She came to Gadsden in 1941 and worked at the Goodyear plant for 15 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Gadsden Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
