Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Crestwood Chapel for Elsie Jenkins, 88, Gadsden, who died Friday, Dec. 11, 2015. Burial will follow in Crestwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Jenkins was born in Alabama City in 1927 to her parents, Henry and Evie Jones.
She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Jenkins; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Jerri Jenkins; grandsons, Ben (and wife, Melissa) Jenkins and Jeremy Jenkins; and great-grandchildren, Ashlynn and Aubrey Jenkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Robert Jenkins; son, Bobby Jenkins; sisters, Dessie Mae Hufstetler, Jewel Hiers, Ophelia Jones, Sybil Smith, Henrietta Jones and Aretty Jones; and brothers, Chester Jones and Emmett Jones.
The family will accept friends from noon on Tuesday until the time of the service.
