Filmore, Elsie
Elsie Filmore, age 86, a resident of Fair Haven Retirement Home in Birmingham, AL. and formerly of Gadsden, Died January 19, 2008. Elsie was born to Ed and Leann King in Winston County. She grew up in Carbon Hill, AL. then moved to Gadsden. She was a member of North Gadsden Baptist Church. Elsie was known as a wonderful Caregiver and took great pleasure in cooking and sharing her fried pies with others. She was blessed with many friends in the Gadsden area prior to moving to Birmingham due to failing health.
Mrs. Filmore is preceded in death by her husbands Ira Mizell, Dewey Rains, John Pearson, and Lonnie Filmore; her sons Jerry and David Mizell; her parents Ed and Leann King; 2 sisters; 3 brothers; and sister in law Eunice Vineyard.
She is survived by her granddaughter Crystal and her children Hayden and Laura of Decatur, Stepson Tommy Pearson of Gadsden, Sister Virginia Smothers of Carbon Hill, special nieces and Caregivers Betty Willingham of Leeds and Andra Hallmark of Birmingham, Numerous other Nieces, Nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday January 22, 2008 at Crestwood Chapel. Rev. David Chandler will officiate. Entombment will be in Crestwood Mausoleum. Crestwood Funeral Home will direct.
In lieu of flowers make a donation to your favorite charity or North Gadsden Baptist Church.
The friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to service.
