Eloise "Jean" Sagima:
Dec 8, 1929 – Jan 20, 2025
Passed away at her home January 20, 2025 at the age of 95 after a sudden illness.
She was the youngest child of parents Ross Thomas Morris and Lida (Hyde) Morris. Jean grew up in
Glencoe, AL and graduated from Glencoe High School in 1947. She worked 20 years at the Department
of Human Resources Food Stamp office and, after retirement, worked an additional 10 years at The
Bridge, Inc.
She loved her jigsaw puzzles, macramé, cross stitch and Gatlinburg. She never missed a Thursday hair
appointment with Miss Becky and always had her red lipstick and nail polish on.
Jean was preceded in death by daughter Linda Hanson; son, James Michael Smith; brothers Carl, James
and John Morris and sisters Estelle Underwood and Farris Hand.
She is survived by her children Jimmy (Vicky) Hanson, Randy Hanson, Donna (Doug) Rodgers and Lisa
Smith. 12 Grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 7 great, great grandchildren.
A memorial celebration of life is planned for a later date.
The family would like to thank Southern Care New Beacon Hospice for guiding us through this trying
time these last days, specifically Nurse Melissa. We are also appreciative of private care giver Miss Kayla
Morris who responded immediately when called.
