Elizabeth "Liz" Strahan 82 of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on May 16th, 2024. Born on May 23rd, 1941 in Calhoun County, Alabama, Liz was a beacon of love and warmth to everyone around her.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents J.A. and Beatrice Christopher, her husband, Lee Roy Strahan Sr., brother Louie Christopher. Liz leaves behind a legacy of love. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Barry) Crocker; son, Lee (Angela) Strahan.
Grandchildren, Lesley (Chad) Posey, Lindsey (Gary) Whisenant, Lauren (Aaron) Brown, and Christopher Strahan. Great grandchildren, Laura Beth, Will, Cayleigh, Caelen, Dylan, Griffon, Alexa, Emery, Benjamin, Bryant and Layton. Sister, Shirley (Gene) Moon.
Liz loved to read, enjoyed taking care of her birds, especially the cardinals, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and cheering on the Alabama football team. Liz and her sister Shirely operated and later owned a gift and floral shop in Rainbow City, Alabama for several years. Her and Shirley would sometimes take off on impromptu trips. They were inseparable and loved sharing their time together. Known for her kindness, selflessness, and southern hospitality that defined her, Liz made sure that love was felt through every meal shared and every moment spent together. Devoted in her love for her Savior, Jesus Christ, Liz was a living
testament to the principles of I Corinthians 13, embodying love and patience in her every interaction with family and friends. Liz was not only the heart of her family but also a best friend and second mother to many, leaving a legacy of warmth and devotion that
will be dearly missed.
A celebration of Liz's life will be held at Crestwood Funeral Home on Tuesday May 21st, 2024. Pastor Johnny Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be at 11:00 am, service will begin at 1:00 pm. Pallbearers will include Christopher Strahan, Aaron Brown, Chad
Posey, Gary Whisenant, Jason Moon, and Johnny Christopher. Liz's family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at UAB Hospital for their compassionate care and support during her final days. A light has gone out in the lives of those who loved her, but her warmth, love, and laughter will forever illuminate the memories we hold dear.
