Elizabeth Jean Copeland Griffith, age 92, of Gadsden, Alabama, entered her heavenly home to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 16, 2022. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Crestwood Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00p.m.

She was preceded in death by her parents, E.V. and Audrey Smith Copeland; her children, Joe Griffith and Betty Griffith; the father of her children, Elmon Griffith; her brothers, Buddy Copeland and Charles Copeland, and her sister-in-love, Pauline Copeland.

She is survived by daughters, Nancy Griffith Thornton, Jane Griffith Newman; son, Robert (Pam) Griffith; grandchildren, Laura (Adam) Swann, Joe Kirby, Sara Griffith, Brody Echols; great-grandchildren, Kaizlea Kirby, Raylan Swann and Ava Swann; sister-in-love, Mary Lou Copeland; and many dear cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jean Graduated from Glencoe High in 1948. She was a church preschool teacher for several years. In her early forties, she studied at Gadsden State College and became a Registered Nurse. She worked in Etowah County Health Department and as a school nurse for almost 20 years. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Glencoe for almost 60 years, and taught the 9-10 year old Sunday School classes for 50 of those years.

She was our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved all of her family fiercely. We, her children, know she fought the good fight, was always faithful and true, and finished her earthly journey with honor.
