Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Crestwood Chapel for Ms. Eleanor Herring, 80, Gadsden, who died Wednesday. The Rev. Roy Cordle will officiate. Burial will be in Hokes Bluff Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Ms. Herring was a 1956 graduate of Emma Sansom High School and retired from BellSouth with more than 42 years of service. She was a longtime member of Louis Street Baptist Church. She loved her church and was very involved. She made numerous mission trips, building churches and helping the needy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Maggie Otwell; brothers, John, Fred, Richard, Gary and Sonny Otwell.
She is survived by daughter Jill (Randy) Parham and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. Friday until the time of service at the funeral home
