Funeral will be 1 pm Thursday at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. Eddie Wayne Comer, age 74, of Gadsden who died Tuesday. Brothers Craig Stuart, Jeff Sauls and Jack Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mr. Comer was a born- again believer and member of Macedonia Baptist Church.He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He was a self- employed farmer by trade and spent his life growing things from row crops in his early years to many types of plants in his later years. He loved his wife of 57 years, his family, and his dog. Paw Paw, as he was lovingly known, will be greatly missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Comer, his beloved grandmother Gertrude Jackson(Mama Jack),sister Maxine Jordan, brother-in- law Kenneth Jordan, and a grandson Zachary Alan Guined.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Comer and daughters Annette(Jeff) Mayben, Pam(Don) Thomas, Traci(Craig) Stuart, grandchildren Emily Mayben, Tiffani(Ryan) Powell, Tammi(Daniel) Miller, Alex Mayben, Casi Stuart, Bethany Guined and great grandchildren Ryleigh, Kasyn, Kayleigh, and Jaxson and sister in law Debbie(Jeff) Sauls, four nieces and one nephew.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church Children's Ministry, Coates Bend, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Mayben, Don Thomas, Alex Mayben, Ryan Powell,and Daniel Miller. Special thanks to Alacare Hospice, Dr. Erwin Peyton, and Becky Stone.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Jordan, Howard Mayben, Buzzy Usry, and Johnny Coffey.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 11 am until the time of service.
