Dorothy Helen Rains "Dottie" Paris passed away Sunday June 5 th , 2022, following a brief illness. Dottie was born in 1930, in Kilpatrick, AL, the daughter of Walter and Annie Rains, growing up in Gadsden, AL and eventually making Huntsville, AL her home since 1962. Often asked for her secret to living such a long life and healthy she would respond simply that she does not worry, and she treats everyone kindly. A hard and dedicated worker, Dottie worked full time for Teledyne Brown Engineering in Huntsville for over 40 years and truly loved her job, the people she met, and the friends she kept for decades. She was the last of 6 siblings of an extraordinary family of whom she was extremely close. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Virgil, Jack Paris; Parents: Walter and Annie Rains; Siblings: Ailene Patterson; Nell Bedingfield; Avis Garrett; Byron Raines; Barney Rains. She is survived by her son Brent Paris of Huntsville and her nephews of which she was most fond and loved as her own: David Bedingfield (Carol), Stan Raines (Pam), Keith Raines (Sheila), several great and great-great nieces and nephews, and many life-long friends including her Teledyne co-workers she considered her family.
Private services were held Thursday June 9 th at Crestwood Funeral Home with the Rev Natalie Brock officiating. Burial was at Crestwood Cemetery in Gadsden, AL.
