Graveside services will be 11 am Saturday July 15th at Crestwood Cemetery for Mrs. Dorothy Machen age 91 of Jacksonville formerly Gadsden who died Friday. Dr. Harold Epperson will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
She was a native of Gadsden Alabama. She was born in Torrance California in 1926 to parents James and Esther Dykes. She was an organist at Forest Avenue Baptist Church for a number of years and taught piano lessons from home.
She is survived by her sons Dr. Donald Machen and Kenneth Machen, daughter in-laws Deborah Machen and Ramona Machen ,4 grandchildren and 7 great grand-children. She is preceded in death by her husband Carl F. Machen, two sisters Morna and Hazel and brother James.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
