Dorothy Lee Abney Bishop passed away peacefully on January 13, 2023 at Fair Haven in Birmingham, AL.
Dorothy was born on October 5, 1923, in Etowah County, AL. After graduating from Fort Payne High School she became a switchboard operator for the telephone company. Later she became the head of women's dress's at W.T. Grant's. Later she worked at Etowah Manufacturing.

She was a member of the Eastern Star Masonic Lodge at Glencoe and the East Gadsden Baptist Church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years Loyd Ceburn Bishop and her parents John and Myrtle Abney.

She is survived by her three children John Loyd Bishop (Cindy), Larry Bruce Bishop (Beth), and Susan Loretta Bishop; six grandchildren: Shawn Bishop(Dawn), Shane Bishop, Ashley Bishop Higginbotham (Marty), Kate Bishop Hegge (Christopher), Anna Fuller Polzin(Eric), Nick Fuller; four great grandchildren: William Higginbotham, Myra Hegge, and Madelyn and Sam Polzin.

A private family service will be held, followed by burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home directing.
