Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM, Friday, November 6th, 2015, at Crestwood Funeral Home, for Doris T. Dunson, 87, of Gadsden, who passed away Tuesday, November 3rd, 2015. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Mrs. Dunson was a longtime member of Central United Methodist Church. She was a retired nurse with over 35 years of service. She loved Crimson Tide football along with her beloved cat, Tom.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert L. Townsend and Walker M. Dunson; son, Bobby L. Townsend; daughters, Betty Jones and Peggy Clark; mother, Lily Leek; brothers, Ronald Leek, Billy Jim Leek, Tommy Leek; and grandsons, Bobby Jones and Tim Townsend.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Phylis Scott; sons, Billy Townsend and Mike (Debra) Townsend; twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; sister, Ann Ogletree; brother Ronald (Linda) Leek; and son-in-law, Johnny W. Jones.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Special thanks to nurses and nurse techs of the 9th Floor of Gadsden Regional Medical Center, and also to Dr. Danny Ryan.
There will be no services per the request of Mrs. Dunson. Family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Friday at Crestwood Funeral Home.
