Funeral services will be 2 pm Wednesday at Forestlawn mausoleum Chapel for Mr. Donald L. Geier, age 91 of Anniston who died at Grandview Medical Center ,Saturday, October 1,2016.Reverend Mike Owens will officiate. Entombment will be in Forestlawn Mausoleum. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mr. Geier retired form Union Foundry after 34 years of service. He was a veteran having served in The United States Navy aboard The U.S.S. Honolulu which was headed for the South Pacific when the war ended. He enjoyed bow hunting and fishing.
He is preceded in death by Daughter Susan Donette Geier,parents Louie C. and Lida V. Geier, sisters Vaudrey Gaulding and Sara Anne Smith, brother Jack Geier and grandson Jason Robinett.
He is survived by wife Doris C Geier, son Donnie(Cheryl) Geier of Jacksonville Alabama, Twin Brother Ronald D.(Joyce) Geier Lincoln Alabama, sister Joan Anderson of Huntsville Alabama ,granddaughter Nicole Geier of North Carolina, grandsons Shane(Rachel) Robinett of Weaver Alabama, ,Bruce(Kayla) Geier ,granddaughter in-law Lorinda Robinett of Gadsden Alabama, one great grandaughter and five great grandsons as well as many nieces and nephews and his best buds Pepper and Rudy.
The family requests no flowers please, contributions may be made to Leatherwood Baptist Church building fund.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 pm until the time of service at Forestlawn Mausoleum Chapel.
