Dennis Ray Kirkland Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home for Mr. Dennis Ray Kirkland, 53, Glencoe, who passed away Friday, May 13, 2011, in Tulsa, Okla., at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. The Rev. Kenneth Jacobs will be officiating. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge. Dennis was born Aug. 4, 1957, in Gadsden. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was loved greatly by his family. He was a kind and generous man who was always there to help. He loved dirt track and NASCAR racing. His hobbies were camping and boating with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Virginia Kirkland; brothers, Larry Wing and Eddie Kirkland; sister, Peggy Kirkland; father-in-law, Ray Brown. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Terri Kirkland; daughters, Jayme (Benjie) Amberson and Kari (Jeffery) Rodgers; grandson, Justin Rodgers; step-grandchildren, Caleigh, Hunter and Peyton Amberson; sisters, Susie (Danny) Jackson, Elaine (James) Kirkpatrick; brothers, Kenneth Kirkland and David (Emily) Kirkland; mother-in-law, Mary Brown; sisters-in-law, Scynea (Eric) Batista, Beth (Glenn) Starr; several loving nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Michael Murphy, Eric Teer, David Moreland, Joel Cleveland, Chris Hare and Jonathan Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and co-workers of UPS in Gadsden. A special thanks to Ricky Akridge. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Monday night at the funeral home
