IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Debra Belinda
Medders
June 28, 1951 – July 12, 2022
Debra Belinda Hanson Medders ("Nanna"), 71, of Alexandria, AL was born on June 28, 1951 in Buford, SC. She departed life in Glencoe, AL on July 12,2022. Visitation and memorial for Debra will be held at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Homes this Friday, July 15, 2022 from 3 p.m to 5 p.m. with a short service to be officiated by Scott Wright at 5 p.m. She was beloved by her children, family and friends. She was a fighter and waged a difficult battle with cancer.
Debra was a kind, compassionate, and caring person. A strong woman that never gave up, and always had a kind word to say. She graduated from Glencoe High School in 1970 and then chose her occupation as a nurse. Spending most of her days with family on the ballfield, she never met a stranger and always had a deep care for others she came into contact with. Having such a big and strong love for others she never failed to touch the heart of anyone and everyone which is why she was known in her later days as "nana". Nana always loved to go fishing, hunting, gambling, and to the beach but loved her family the most. She would always be the person you called if you needed an extra hand or a compassionate ear to listen. Losing her is a great loss to everyone because of the impact she had on others in this life. While her earthly body has expired, we gain solace in knowing that she is dancing the golden streets of heaven with late family and has gained her wings flying high with Jesus.
Being proceeded in death by her parents Robert & Betty Hanson and siblings Charles Hanson & Robbie Mitchell. She is survived by her sister, Jan (Mike) McMillan, nieces (Rachael (Josh), Sara); son, Timothy (Malinda) Medders, grandchildren (Brittney, John, Ashlee), great-grand child (Bailey); daughter, Brandy (Corey) Clemmons, grandchildren (Ashton (Ro'chele), Dayson), great-grand child (Baylor); nephew (Shane); and several other cousins, great nieces and nephews.
She is survived by friends that she loved as her own that include Gail Bowers, Salley Arlene "Sam" McMillian, Tracie Haynes, Audry Sprayberry, Allen Elscott, Simon Park, Mason Choi, and many others.
People wishing to honor Debra may send flowers to Crestwood Memorial or make a donation to your charity of choice in her name.
