Debra Jean Daniel, age 73, of Rainbow City passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023. She was a long time resident of Etowah County. She was a person that always left a great impression with others due to her kind expression and sweet demeanor. She had several hobbies and was the best cook ever. She delighted in cooking for her family and getting everyone together to visit and eat her cooking! She also enjoyed fishing.  Above everything else, her greatest joy came from being Nana. She loved being Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family and love for them was what her life was centered around.

Debra was a kind, sweet, and loving person, yet she was also a very strong and brave person during her fight against cancer.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Jeri York; grandmother Sarah Ann McKinney; and siblings Diann York, Mike York, and Russell York.

Debra is survived by her daughters Kimberly Calhoun (John)and Denise Clayton (Darin); grandchildren Ricky Ray Clayton (Kaleigh), Brittany Scott (Joey), Madison Nichole Coker (Dantley) and Sara Ezzell (Michael); great grandchildren Eleanor Scott, Raydon Ezzell, Briar Coker, Banks Ray Clayton, and Sloan Coker; her sister Leasa Moore (Pete); aunt Jo and Gerald Hill; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives; life long friends Deborah and Charly Fulton; and companion and fur baby Jasper.

Enhabit Hospice was absolutely wonderful while caring for Debra and helping her family  through this time. Everyone was so appreciated, especially Kristy Gwin , Lori Hornsby, and the chaplain, Fred Whitt. Also much appreciation to her caregiver Glenda Griffin
