Funeral will be at 3 pm Tuesday at Crestwood Chapel for Mr. David L. Woodard age 83 of Gadsden who died Thursday May 14. Reverends Gary Hare, J.L. Knight and David Woodard will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery.
Mr. Woodard was a longtime member of Golden Rod Baptist Church and retired from The United States Navy with over 26 years of service. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and he will be missed by all.
He is preceded in death by parents L.V. and Thelma Woodard and brother, Virgil M. Woodard.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Betty, children, Cathey Dennis, Pam(Rex) Jones, David(Kim) Woodard,7 grandchildren,10 great grandchildren, 1 great- great grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pall Bearers will be grandsons.
Honorary pall bearers will be special friends W.O. Maxwell and Ricky and Suzanne Hampton.
Special thanks to Dr. K.J. Shah and Robin, Kim, Darrell, and Shay from Southern Care Hospice and daughter in law Kim Woodard and daughter Cathey Dennis.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of service.
