IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Wayne
Trottier
November 24, 1959 – October 26, 2022
David Wayne Trottier, age 62, of Southside passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 6 pm on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Crestwood Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4pm until the hour of service. Rev. Scott Hassell will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home will direct services.
David was born at Kindley Air Force base in Bermuda to Adrien "Bill" and Norma Jean Trottier. Having grown up in a military family, David also served his country and was an Air Force veteran. He was a graduate of Nashua High School in New Hampshire, Jacksonville State University, and Birmingham School of Law. He was an attorney and had Trottier Law, LLC. in Gadsden.
David was well traveled and an outdoorsman. He loved visiting national parks, kayaking, spelunking, hiking, and enjoying nature. He even enjoyed working outdoors doing yardwork. David was somewhat of an amateur Geologist and his children referred to him as a "Rock Hound". He was an avid Auburn football fan. Of all of the interesting facets of his interests and personality David will be remembered most as a kindhearted philanthropist who always tried to help others as well as a man that dearly loved his children and grandchildren. He was a dearly loved Pépère' (French for grandfather). David was an amazing dad and great friend to many.
He is preceded in death by his father, Adrien "Bill" Trottier.
He is survived by his mother Norma Jean Trottier; children Brianna (Joshua) Lowe; William Trottier, Alex (Pri) Trottier, and Kerrin (Rodney) Shields; grandchildren Evan Shields, Cooper Shields, Reagan Shields, Jordy Lowe, Caitlyn Trottier, Vivien Lowe, Asher Shields, Luke Trottier, Barrett Lowe and (arriving soon) Maeve Shields; siblings Lori (Joe) Ford, Dale Trottier, and Glenn Trottier; many nieces and nephews; and friend and associate Meagan Duncan.
For all of those that have called and left messages, he is probably not going to answer your call. You can bet he is in the great beyond with a Marlboro Light in his hand.
