Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday August 08,2008.at Crestwood Chapel for David Ray Brown, 70, Glencoe, who died August 6, 2008. Rev. Billy Kitchens, Rev. Jason Hill and Rev. David Denson will officiate. Burial atCrestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.
Mr. Brown was retired from General Electric of Rome, GA after 29 years of service. He was a member of North Highland Baptist Church. He was an avid Alabama Football, Atlanta Braves Baseball and Nascar Fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; John and Geneva Brown, brother James Brown.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Brown; daughters, Scynea (Eric) Batista; Terri (Dennis) Kirkland; Beth (Glenn Starr) Brown; sister, Sylvia (Steve) Walker; brothers, Ralph (Patsy) Brown; Billy (Pam) Brown; grandchildren, Jayme and Kari Kirkland, Paige (Drew) Harris. Taylor and Matthew Batista; Sommer (Benji) Gray; great-grandchildren, Clayton and Conner Harris, Slade Batista, Alyssa Rubrigi; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Zac Welch, Jacob Welch, Brandon Brown, Shane Brown, Drew Harris, Roger Sims and Chris Sims. Honorary pallbearers will be Dood Sims, Bob Robershaw, Roy Wagnon, James Stephens, Jerry Stephens, Richard Stephens, Chris Hare and Dewayne Hare.
