Funeral services for David H. Morris, age 69, of Gadsden, AL will be Wednesday, April 28, 2021, 2:00 PM at Crestwood Funeral Home with Minister Chris Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow in the Crestwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Mr. Morris passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Morris, daughter, Cindie Wood (Justin), daughter-in-law, Courtney Morris Murray (David), grandchildren; Lyla Morris, Kerrington Morris, Calleigh Wood, Logan Wood, Miles Murray, sisters; Bettye Patrick, Peggy Rigsby, Charlotte Duncan, Brenda McCormack (Doug), Kim Michael, brother, Jerry Morris (Theresa), several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jina Capes, Heath Blair, Nathaniel Foshee, James Pendley, Shon Pendley, and Justin Wood.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Logan Wood, grandson, Chief Wil Reed, Gadsden Fire Department, and Chief Jeremy Tidmore, Ballplay Bend Volunteer Fire Department.

Mr. Morris was a resident of Etowah County since 1975 and was the former Chief of Ballplay Bend Volunteer Fire Department serving the community for many years. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired with 37 years as a Government Contractor.

Mr. Morris was preceded in death by his father,  Andrew Jackson Morris, mother, Maggie Chaney, brother, Curtis Morris, and a son, David Morris Jr.
