Services for David Lamar Bryant, age 77, of New Liberty Community, Jacksonville, will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Crestwood Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bruce Jenkins will preside. He will be laid to rest in Crestwood Cemetery, Gadsden, Alabama. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.
David Bryant went to be with Our Lord on this day of Wednesday April 13, 2011. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Elizabeth (Satterfield) Bryant; Parents David F. Bryant and Virgie (Brothers) Bryant; brothers Dennis and Johnny Bryant; son in law Billy Joe Barragan; and great grandson Samuel Wagnon and Zabe Curvin.
Survivors include his siblings Edison Ford Bryant, William F. Bryant, Bartima Crawford; children Dyanna (Richard) Beam, Gadsden, David (Tina) Bryant, Jacksonville, Daniel (Carol) Bryant, Birmingham, Dennice (Dale) Doyle, Wellington, Delorace (Mark) Wagnon, Hokes Bluff, Daphne (Wayne) Manley, New Liberty, and Dorothy Willingham, Birmingham,; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, and his dearest friend Alma Alford. He was a member of Young's Chapel Methodist Church. He had retired from the U.S. Navy and Goodyear. He was a minister and teacher, and was a member of the Glencoe Masonic Lodge.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the doctors and hospital staff of Trinity Medical Center in Birmingham and the members of Young's Chapel Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons in law.
Honorary pallbearers are the Pilot and Anchor Clubs.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until the hour of service.
