IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Lee
Bruce
April 11, 1947 – December 24, 2024
David Bruce, age 77, passed away on December 24, 2024. Celebration of Life will be held on December 27, 2024 from 3-5 PM at Crestwood Funeral Home.
David will be remembered as an avid fisherman and deer hunter that loved to cook. Whether it was at the camp ground cooking for anyone that wanted to eat or at the baseball field where he was known for the best hamburgers and hot dogs in the county. He never met a stranger and probably knew someone in your family if you talked to him long enough. David spent a lot of time at Southside High School supporting the football and baseball programs and he will always be remembered for all the time he dedicated. He only got to cook for Sardis High Baseball one time this year but he will be greatly missed this upcoming season. He loved Alabama football, Roll Tide! He retired from Bonners Acoustical Contractors where he worked for 25 years. In retirement he worked at Don's Butcher Block where he loved talking to all the hunters that came through.
Preceded in death by his son Lee Bruce, parents Roy and Lorea Bruce, brother Jerry Bruce, sister Sandra Lanham, granddaughter Sasha Bruce.
Survived by his wife of 41 years Becky, son Dwayne Bruce, daughter Anita (Tim) Kelley, daughter-in-law Stacy Arledge grandchildren James (Chasity) Bruce, Matt (Derrica) Bruce, Bruce (Taylor) Kelley, Corey (Madison) Kelley, Steven (Carrie) Dey, David Dey, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, sister Joyce (Larry) Lynn, sisters-in-law Claudia Bruce and Karen (Rick) Shockley, mother-in-law Florence Rains, chosen daughter Katie (Scott) Brackett, chosen grandchildren Blake DeVine, Evan Kell, and a host of nieces and nephews
