CORNELIA "CONNIE" CATES
Cornelia "Connie" Cates, 89, of East Gadsden, AL, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2008. Connie was a longtime resident of East Gadsden and a retired Holy Name of Jesus Hospital employee. She was active in the churches she attended. she had previously worked for Motorola in Quincy, IL. Born and raised in Moulton, IA where she active in school sports and church.
Gravesite services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Crestwood Cemetery, 2209 East Broad Street Gadsden, AL. Charles Beshears officiating. There will be no visitation, the family and friends will meet at the graveside. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Survivors include her stepdaughters, Gail Cates Roscoe of Conover, NC, Linda Cates Williams of Huntsville, AL; step grandchildren, Brian Allen Williams of Huntsville, AL, Eric Lee Williams of Nashville, TN, Jason Allan Roscoe and Jeffery Scott Roscoe of Conover, NC, Jill Roscoe Cessna of Toga Cay, SC; her special friends Ella Ree Sharpton, Paul Bearden, and Roosevelt Maiden of Gadsden; and several nieces and nephews including her niece Wilda Smith of Moulton, IA .
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Cates of East Gadsden, AL and her sister, Wilma Harrison of Westminister, CO.
Pallbearers include step grandsons; Brian A. Williams, Eric L. Williams, Jason A. Roscoe, and Jeffery S. Roscoe; Paul Bearden.
