Funeral services will be 1 pm Tuesday, at Crestwood Chapel, for Mr. C.O. "Buddy" Smith, age 93, of Gadsden, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 7, 2022. Pastor Mike Wellborn will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral home announcing.

He worked for 20 years for Florida Pipe and Foundry, over 20 years with Bowman Transportation, and was an ordained Minister, with Alabama Church of God. After he retired he spent his time in his garden growing vegetables to share with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Opal, son Ken Smith, Daughter Cindy Waldrop Willoughby and daughter in law Peggy Davis Smith, and parents Gurley and Linnie Smith.

He is survived by his son Ronnie Smith, daughter in-law Sheryl Preston Smith, grandson Shane(Stacy) Smith, granddaughter Rhonda(Scotty) Woodard, grandson Mark(Dawn) Smith, grandson Jeremy(Elizabeth) Waldrop, grandson Chris(Brittany) Smith, grandaughter Candice(Brandon) Patterson, great grandkids, Karli, Ivey, Baleigh, Sydney, Brylee, Colt, Ireland, Lilli Beth, Jacob, Ashley, Whitney, Scotty and great-great grandkids, Lillian and Evelyn.
