Obituary

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Glencoe for Mr. C.R. "Stoney" Stonecypher, age 85, of Southside, who died on Sunday, March 9, 2014. Revs. Ray Stonecypher, Michael Stonecypher and Vince Whittington will conduct the service. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Mr. Stonecypher was a deacon, Sunday School Director, recruited people for volunteer missions and a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Glencoe. He was a two time veteran of the United States Marine Corps, then served several years in the Alabama National Guard. He retired from Alagasco with over 35 years of service.
Preceded in death by his parents, D.H. and Ed Mary Stonecypher; great grandson, Tristion Allynn Toole.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dot Stonecypher; children, Ray (Sandra) Stonecypher, Mike (Becky) Stonecypher, Celeste (Jim) Dunnington, Abby (Jeff) Toole and Lisa (Ben) Russell; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; sister, Kathryn (Bobby) Morgan; anda niece and a nephew, Dee and Tim.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Special thanks to our friends and family who continued to show their love after our move to Georgia.
The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Mission Offering through the First Baptist Church of Glencoe.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Glencoe.
