Clara Benefield Greene Haynes, age 83, of Glencoe, went peacefully into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on March 11, 2010. Funeral Services will be at 3pm today, March 13, at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home with burial following in Crestwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1pm until the hour of service. Rev. Vince Whittington and Rev. Phillip Elliott will officiate. Mrs. Haynes was a member of Glencoe First Baptist Church and the Tell Sunday School Class. She was a loving and proud Christian wife, mother, and Nana gone to glory. She is survived by her husband James Haynes; daughters Anita Greene and Pam Norton, both of Hokes Bluff; stepchildren Terry (Janice) Haynes, Vicki (Bill) Brannan; Grandchildren Wendy (Robb) Howard, Amy (Jeff) Gault, Jesse Norton, Ciara (Chris) Fleming, Logan Norton, Blake (Angela) Haynes, Chris Brannan, and Josh (Meagan) Haynes; great grandchildren Austin and Michael Daugherty, Christian and Sadie Gault, Zaide Norton, Aiden, Brayden, and Caden Howard, Rylan Fleming, and Baylee Haynes; sister Tola (Sam) Reed and several loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her first husband Buron C. Greene; brothers King, Robert, and Reuben Benefield; Sisters Canolia Bone, Jackie Womack, Thelma Estes and Naomi Reeves; and parents David and Lessie Benefield.
Pallbearers will be Jesse Norton, Logan Norton, Robb Howard, Jeff Gault, Blake Haynes, Chris Fleming, Josh Haynes, and Chris Brannan.
The family would like to express their thanks to special caregivers Barbara Dothard and Brenda Mann along with New Beacon Hospice.
