Graveside will be at 2 pm Sunday, at Crestwood Cemetery for Christine Meers,of Gadsden, who died Saturday. Rev. Steve Baccus will officiate. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge.Mrs. Meers was a Christian who loved the Lord and her church, Hokes Bluff First United Methodist, loved Alabama football, gardening and yard work. Her grass was always cut and manicured perfectly, mowed it herself until a few months ago.She loved her family and friends with all her heart and she will be dearly missed.She is preceded in death by her husband Emmett, siblings Lillian White, John Whitt, Novella Broom and Calvin Whitt. Survived by daughter, Anne Meers Coker, granddaughter, Jennifer Coker Henslee. Great- grandchildren, Alexander and Andrew, Sister Frances Abel, nieces Pat (Charlie) Baker, Judy Lockridge, Rebecca (David) Franklin and numerous great nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Pancreatic Cancer Society.Special thanks to Encompass Hospice, Dr. Thomas Harper and Nurse Jennifer Gortney.Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:30 until the time of service.
