Obituary

Christine Holt, beloved mother and aunt, went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2013.
Her life was one of loving service to her family, her church and her community.
Christine was born on Christmas Day, 1916, to Ira George and Amy Whitcomb Rhodes in Marengo County, Ala. She went on to serve in the USO during World War II. She was a faithful state employee who served in many capacities with the State Department of Industrial Relations and retired after 38 years as Office Manager of the Gadsden Unemployment Office. She was also past president of the Pilot Club of Gadsden. She served as a pastor's wife for over 50 years.
She was a member of Glencoe Church of Christ, Glencoe, AL.
Her legacy is a gift of love and faith to her family and friends. She has loved unconditionally even when we were not very lovable.
She is survived by her son, Ira Thomas Holt (Jennie), Gadsden, Ala.; her stepdaughter, Vivian Ledingham, Moody, Ala.; grandchildren, Brad Holt, Kristin Russell, Philip Ledingham, Steve Glassco and Mary Jane Riney; three stepgrandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves a special niece, Diane McCain (Bill); a great-niece, Linda Rohler; and a great-great-nephew, Chase Rohler. She also had several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Horace Holt; and three stepchildren, Audrey Smith, Aubrey Holt and Mary Bradley; brothers, Edward Rhodes, Wayne Rhodes and Samuel Rhodes.
Many thanks to Village at Cook Springs and all her caregivers there who lovingly ministered to her during her residence there for over five years.
