Funeral was at1:00PM Friday, September 19, at Crestwood Memorial Chapel for Charlsie Lou Henderson, age 84, of East Gadsden, who died September 16, 2009. Rev. Lauil Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct. Mrs. Henderson was a life long resident of Etowah County. She was a former employee of Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was an active member of East Gadsden Baptist Church. She was a beloved mother and sister. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph W. Henderson, parents Tom and Lula Gore, and three brothers Reverend Kermit Gore, Bernard Gore, and Lawrence Gore.
She is survived by her daughters Carol Winner of Houston, Texas and Susan Hodge of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Two Grandsons Andrew and Tyler Hodge and Granddaughter Jo Ann Hodge of Lawrenceville; sisters Josie Dean Myrick and Betty Jane Smith of Gadsden; Brother William Rodney (Anne) Gore, Birmingham.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Gadsden Health Care, the nurses on the 6th floor of Riverview Regional Medical Center, and Dr. Vincente Torregosa. Also, special thanks to Charlotte Stephens and Ruby Nelson for their loving care.
Memorials may be made to East Gadsden Baptist Church.
Mrs. Henderson's nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 11:30 until the hour of service.
