Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at Crestwood Chapel for Charles D. Taylor, 77, of Hokes Bluff, who passed away Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013. Bro. Anthony Copeland will officiate. Following the service, cremation service will be directed by Crestwood Funeral Home.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joan Taylor; son, Doug Taylor, of Metairie, LA; daughter, Cindy Taylor, of Hokes Bluff, AL; sister, Cornelia Finley, of Calera, AL; and sisters-in-law, Ellare Sharpton and Nona Loconta; and nieces, Tracy and Dawn.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Sharp Taylor; father, Clarence D. Taylor; and brother, James M. Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers are Larry Simpson, Bradley Anders, Robert Morgan, Rodney Stovall, Andrew Morgan and Anthony Copland.
The family would like to express special thanks to the nurses and staff in the SICU; nurses on the seventh floor of Gadsden Regional Medical Center; and his home health care nurse, Crystal Freeman.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
