Charles Morris died Thursday, April 1, 2021 He was 87 years old. His funeral services will be at the Crestwood Funeral home on Tuesday April 6, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Crestwood Cemetery, Gadsden, Alabama.
Charles was born May 16, 1933 in Gadsden, Al. and was a 1952 graduate of Hokes Bluff High School. He enjoyed his retirement from Etowah County by listening to BlueGrass music, driving his tractor and was an avid fan of Alabama Crimson Tide Football.
He was an active member and previous deacon of Union #3 Baptist Church of Ball Play community. He also served in the bus ministry for many years. He was a charter member of the Ball Play Fire department.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, J.D. Morris and Annie Jo(Josie) (Duncan) Carroll; Brothers, F.T.(Buddy) Morris, Roy Dale Morris; Sisters, Gwen Morris Keifer, Elaine Morris Spurlock, and sister in law Lynda Morris.
He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Patricia (Patti) McEwen Morris, daughter, Amy (Scott) Dillard of Ball Play, grandchildren, Ethan Dillard of Birmingham, and Ashton Dillard of Ball Play, his brothers, Joe (Barbara) Morris of Gadsden, Jerry (Pam) Morris of Atlanta, and Ray (Jane) Morris of Hokes Bluff, sisters in law Marlion Morris and Barbara Morris, and his grand dog Ally.
Charles' death leaves a void in our lives, but will forever be in our hearts. We are comforted by the fact that he is with Jesus his LORD and Savior.
Family requests no flowers.
Visitation will be at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday and last until the time of service.
