Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Crestwood Memorial Chapel for Mr. Charles J. Martin, II, age 73, of Gadsden, who died on Monday, April 13, 2009. Rev. George Lankford will officiate. Burial will be at Union Hill Methodist Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Charles J. Martin, Sr. and Effie Mae Martin; and a son, Charles J. Martin, III.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carolyn Kilgro Martin; daughters, Starlite and Paul Brock, Carol and Maylon Satterfield; sisters, Ruth Scarbor, Barbara Avery, Mary Farlow, Pauline Flowers and Billie and Paul Self; 4 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Attalla Healthcare and Rehab.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home.
