A memorial service for Mr. Charles William Kendrick, who died Monday, June 25, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, at Crestwood Chapel. The Rev. William Allan Payne will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Mr. Kendrick was a native of Talladega, Ala., and a World War II veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater. He has been a longtime resident of Glencoe and worked in the heating and air conditioning business with the Merrill Company. He was an active volunteer with the Glencoe Senior Citizens Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Harden Kendrick; and grandson, Brad Payne. He is survived by son, Larry (Ellen) Kendrick, Austin Texas; daughters, Lorna (Jim) Marden of Peachtree, Ga., Carol ( Barre) Payne of Dothan, Ala., Paula (Charlie) Robertson of Hokes Bluff, Ala.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Gamble of Guntersville, Ala. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glencoe Bible Methodist Church, 1004 Sue Drive, Glencoe, AL 35905. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 until the time of service.
