Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at Crestwood Funeral Chapel for Charles O. Fordham, 77, Gadsden, who died October 18, 2009. Rev. Bob Luker officiated. Burial was in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home was in charge.
Mr. Fordham was owner/operator of Fordham Transfer Co. and co-owner of Southeastern Warehousing and the original creator of Green Valley Drag Strip.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mr.& Mrs. S.R. Fordham, wife; Bobbie Jean Fordham, great-grandson; Jaxon Cole Jaynes.
He is survived by sons; Chas " Dick" (Deborah Vice) Fordham, Billy (Vanessa) Fordham, Jimmie (Kathy) Fordham, grandchildren; Josh ( Dawn) Fordham, Lance ( Leigh) Fordham, Brooke (Ethan) Jaynes; Keri (Jason) Morris, Nathan Fordham, Dallas Fordham and 7 great-grandchildren, Lauren, Hunter, Allison, Austin, Jordyn, Aiden, Brooklyn; sister, Linda Fordham; Special family friend; Ms. Lonnie Miller
Pallbearers were his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers were Jerry White and Gerald Watwood.
