Funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday, December 6,2023, at First Baptist Church Trussville, for Catherine Stanford Hathaway who passed away surrounded by family on December 2nd, 2023. Catherine was born in Gadsden, Alabama, January 12, 1928 where she was raised, and graduated from Gadsden High School in 1946. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, George Truitt Hathaway; her parents, James Carl Stanford and Martha Lee Townley, sister Elizabeth Clark and brother James Townlee Stanford. Catherine is survived by her children Ron (Wanda), Katrina (Randy), Gerry (Kathy); sister JoAnn Kilgore; grandchildren Eric (Kelly), Andrew (Rachael) David (Shahed), Joy (Paul), Kayla (Wes), Sarah, and niece Lynn Kilgore, and seven great-grandchildren; Justice, Brendon, Scarlett, Sophia, Stella, Noah and Levi. Catherine devoted her life to her husband and family. She worked as a dedicated bookkeeper.  She was a kind, caring beloved person who kept her mind sharp and kept everyone smiling. She loved gardening, cooking for her family, and watching Alabama football. After marrying and moving to Trussville, she and George joined and became lifelong devoted servants and  members of First Baptist Trussville. Her family will receive visitors at First Baptist Trussville on Wednesday, December 6th, starting at noon. The burial will be at Crestwood Memorial in Gadsden, Alabama.
