Mrs. Carol Cassidy Moore, age 79, of Hokes Bluff, died Wednesday, March 5, 2025, after an extended illness. A service celebrating her life will be Saturday, March 8, 2025, at First Methodist Church Hokes Bluff. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. with the service at 11:00 a.m.
Left to cherish her memory include her husband of 59 years, Joe D. Moore, daughter Deanna (Bruce) McMurtrey, son John (Kelly) Moore, sister Debbie (Lenn) Hill, brother Byron Cassidy, sisters-in-law Delores Schultz and Rosa (Bob) Statum, brothers-in-law Bill Moore and Jerry (Connie) Moore.
Grandchildren Morgan (Parker) Hardin, Peyton (Destinie), and Arden McMurtrey.
Great Grandson Barrett Hardin, three "little girls" adopted in love – Brittney, Megan, and Autumn, many nieces and nephews, and more friends than anyone could count.
She was preceded in death by her parents Vernard and Dorothy Cassidy, and her beloved son, Joel Moore.
Carol graduated from Gadsden High School in 1963, then attended Jacksonville State University. After she and Joe married, she became a full-time wife and mother.
Through the years, Carol was very active in the First Methodist Church of Hokes Bluff where she served as Youth Counselor, Sunday School teacher, a member of the Dewey Ryan Sunday School Class and the Hope Circle ladies' group, a teacher in the church day care (Kids Kingdom), and a long-time member of the church choir. Through many challenges that she and Joe faced together in their lives, the Lord blessed her with a ministry of encouragement, prayer, and offering a hug to any and every one.
Pallbearers are Parker Hardin, Peyton Moore, Bruce McMurtrey, Carey Hill, Brent Hill, and Rusty Hill.
Honorary Pallbearers are her church family and friends. The family is also grateful to Mollie and Lori from ACG.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the First Methodist Church of Hokes Bluff.
Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
