Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 3, 2025, at Crestwood Cemetery for Ms. Brook Janean Slaton, age 51, of Gadsden, who passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

Charles Smith will officiate the service.

Brook was a vibrant and radiant person, the kind of individual who could light up any room. She had an infectious love for conversation and never met a stranger. Her home was filled with a cherished collection of items, from Alabama football memorabilia to Star Wars and even John Wayne keepsakes. Her sparkling personality and love for everyone around her will be remembered fondly. Brook was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Heaven has certainly gained an angel.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Denise; grandparents, Thelma Bunton, Honree, and Archie  Slaton; and her very special friend, Jimmy Duncan.

Brook is survived by her parents, Bobby and Barbara Slaton; her special aunt and uncle, Paul and Elizabeth Bunton; and a large extended family.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the 3rd-floor CCU and 4th-floor nursing staff at Riverview.

Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. In honor of Brook's memory, she requested that all attendees wear Alabama clothing.
