Obituary

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Crestwood Chapel for Bobbie Jean Nabors, 83, of Southside, who died Jan. 28, 2013. Dr. Rodney Ennis will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.

Bobbie was born and raised in Waco, Texas. She attended Waco High School. She received her nursing degree at Providence Catholic Hospital and worked there for two years. She met and married her husband of 56 years, Robert G. Nabors, at James Connelly Air Force Base.

Bobbie was an avid bowler, loved to travel, enjoyed playing card games, and most days you could find her fishing in the Coosa River. She had done volunteer nursing in various Air Force hospitals across the country, including Regional Baptist Hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Robert "Frosty" Nabors; children, Sharon Matthews of Chattanooga, Tenn., David Moncla and wife, Beverly, of Houston, Texas, and Lola Garfield and husband, Michael, of Maine; grandchildren, James Clayton, Amanda Matthews Hall, Robert Matthews, Jacob and Luke Moncla, Claire Moncla Marghiem and Jeffery and Nick Garfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , Glencoe Cumberland Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity .

The family would like to express their special thanks to Martha and Bob Vickery, Cecilia Sierra, Benny and Linda Callaway, Panthea Nabors and Joe and Martha Nabors for their loving support and friendship.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 at Crestwood Funeral Home.
