Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Crestwood Chapel for Billy Earl Ashworth, 81, of Gadsden, who died Sept. 22, 2013. The Rev. David Ellis will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home will direct services.
Mr. Ashworth was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Snead, AL. He had worked in automotive parts and repair and janitorial work.
He is survived by wife, Pauline Smith Ashworth; stepson, Thomas Trotter; step-grandson, Steven (Beth) Trotter; great-grandchildren, Brock, Claire and Charleigh Trotter; brother, Donald (Annette) Ashworth; sister, Susie (Milas) Howard; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Ann Wacholz, Glen Janes, Betty and Davis Ellis, Arlene Smith, Dwight and Carolyn smith; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Special escort for Mrs. Ashworth will be her son, Tommy Trotter; and grandson, Brock Trotter.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Foster, Steven Trotter, Randall Ashworth, Randy Ashworth, Mike Goff and Wallace Ashworth.
Honorary pallbearers are Amedisys Home Health, Dr. Ronald Hanson and all family members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday..
