Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Bellevue Baptist Church for Mrs. Billie Jacqueline Brown, age 86, of Gadsden, who died Sunday. Brother Roger Graham and Shane Cornutt will officiate. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Funeral Home is in charge of services.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the 1948 graduating class of Etowah High School and a member of Bellevue Baptist Church for 78 years. She was employed by Alabama City Bank for over 20 years. Her greatest loves were her family, her church and her many friends. Her pride and joy came from watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren live, laugh and love. She also had a special place in her heart for her furry, four-legged grandchildren, which she spoiled equally. But most of all, her strong faith and love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was the foundation on which she lived.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy R. Brown; parents; Nora and Walter Stovall; sisters, Burvil Rogers, Jewell Street, Joyce Ledbetter, Minnie Brady, Inez Yancey, Willene Smith; and son in-law, Joseph L. Boman.
She is survived by her sister, Mattie Jo Atchison; children, Cindy Boman, Angie Chambers, Tina (Michael) Dixon; grandchildren, Tara Boman, Charity (Chad) Robinson, Tyler Chambers, Chad (Kacy) Dixon; great-grandchildren, Mckenna and Reagan Chambers, Chandler and Charlee Kate Dixon and Mason Robinson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bellevue Baptist Church LLL group.
Pallbearers will be Sammy Andrews, Melton Burgess, James Otwell, John Hines, Matt Andrews and James Ledbetter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Randy West, Harry Smith and Sonny Brady.
Special thanks to Alacare Hospice, Lindsey Dupree R.N., Jeane Graham R.N., Crystal Scott, Mary Thacker and Dr. Sathyn Iyer.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Crestwood Funeral Home.
