Our loving Dad met with Jesus Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Funeral Service were held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 8 at Crestwood Chapel for Billie Rhea Blackwell, age 75, of Anniston (previously of Etowah County). Bro. Royal Thomas will officiate. Burial was in Crestwood Cemetery. Crestwood Memorial Funeral Home directed.
Mr. Blackwell was a loving father, grandfather, and Christian. He loved to garden and would play Bingo at every opportunity.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Regina Hendon Blackwell; his parents Henry and Ethel Blackwell; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his children Allen (Cindy) Blackwell, Rhonda (Chad) Handy, Sharon (Stacy) Beason, and Pamela (Kenneth) Clark; grandchildren Chris (Amanda) Davis, Beth (Chris) Chavis, Kendra Clark, Nicole Clark, Zachary Clark, Brandon (Amanda) Abernathy, Tiffany (Woody) Rossor, Ethen Handy and Grace-Ann Handy, Ryan Beason and Taska Beason; 13 Great Grandchildren; sisters Pauline Sitz, Sue Cothran, Dot Jarrells; and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers were all of his Bingo Buddies on 12th Street.

The family received friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 until 8 pm.
